What part of the wedding planning process was the most fun for you?

Both: Dance lessons! It was so much fun to learn a new skill together, and we loved showing off our moves on our big day.

Do you have any advice for brides- and grooms-to-be who are in the throes of wedding planning?

Both: Wedding planning can be extremely stressful – we (especially Sam) really focused on the details to make sure our wedding felt personal and authentic to us as a couple. Just remember that it will all be worth it in the end! Seeing everything come together so beautifully and having our family and friends there to enjoy everything we planned was an absolute thrill.

Do you have words of wisdom for couples on the day of their wedding?

Matt: Be present and take it all in. The day flies by. Also, it’s easy to get pulled in different directions as the night goes on. Try to stick together as much as you can!

Sam: The planning is finally over and it’s time to celebrate. Remember to sit back, relax, and enjoy!

What moment from your day stands out the most in your memory?

Sam: There were so many memorable moments! In between the ketubah signing and the ceremony, we unexpectedly ended up in a room alone while our guests found their seats. After the excitement of the first look and family photos, this turned out to be the perfect quiet, intimate moment to regroup together before walking down the aisle.

Matt: Our first look was unforgettable. There was also a moment on the dance floor when we stopped to look around and take a mental picture. It was amazing to see so many people we love in one place at the same time, and so special to know that they were all there to be with us on our big day.

What three words would you use to describe your relationship?

Both: Supportive, loving, fun!

Other than your wedding, what is your happiest memory together?

Both: We love to travel, and have been on a few amazing trips in our five-plus years together. Skiing in Utah, hiking in Lake Tahoe, and wine-tasting in Tuscany were all awesome memories, and we can’t wait for our honeymoon in Southeast Asia!
