What did you most enjoy about the planning process?

Meredith: Designing our wedding together. Chris and I are both lawyers so we really enjoyed the creative aspect of wedding planning, from designing bespoke elements of his tux to designing the save-the-dates and invitations.

Chris: It was actually pretty fun to plan out the tables and think about who would hit it off with whom.

What was on your wish list for your wedding day?

Meredith: We had noticed at various pre-wedding events that it was hard to stay together because we would end up in conversations with different people. So, Chris and I were conscious of not being separated for too long on our wedding night!

Chris: I just wanted to not flub any of my lines and for everyone to have a good time.

How did it feel to walk around NYC as Bride and Groom?

Chris: Conspicuous!

Meredith: It was hilarious doing our first look on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 63rd Street. People walking by felt like they were part of the moment! Apparently before Chris could see me he was asking passersby how I looked. We felt like celebrities but that later came back to bite me. When I walked out of Rockefeller Center at the end of the night, there was a huge crowd of people cheering (I thought for me) but the SNL cast was walking out right behind me!

On your day, did anything surprise you?

Meredith: I didn’t ugly cry when I walked down the aisle. I was really worried about it but my nerves and excitement were stronger emotions. I was also surprised that Chris and I stayed up until 4:30 a.m. the night of our wedding. I thought we were going to be exhausted, but we were on such a high we didn’t want the night to end.

Chris: I was a little surprised (in a good way!) that we still had so many people on the dance floor when things shut down at the Rainbow Room at 1 a.m.

What do you think is most important to keep in mind on your wedding day?

Meredith: Don’t overthink anything on your wedding day – just enjoy!

Chris: If you’re going to wear a real bow tie, make sure you’ve successfully tied it in practice more than once.

Meredith, what memory of Chris on your day stands out the most?

Meredith: Getting to the top of the aisle and taking his hands and just feeling a huge rush of relief. The day was so much fun but there was a lot going on – hair and makeup, first look, photographs, etc. When I got to the top of the aisle and looked into his eyes, we had made it.

Chris: The first look, at which I saw her looking beautiful on the corner of 63rd and 5th.
