Amy and Hod met through a friend in the Fall of 2015. Their friendship bloomed quickly, and then came The Blizzard of 2016. Friends Amy and Hod got snowed in together, and emerged from the storm as something more. “We started the day at the movies and then went bar hopping all over. It was a lot of fun and we both realized we wanted to stay together after that,” says Amy. When asked about their love story, Hod says it’s “still being written…”

The bride-and-groom-to-be threw an engagement party at The Standard, which we were there to capture – and to join in the fun! Below, we ask a few questions about their proposal and up-coming nuptials in November.

Tell us all about the proposal.

Amy: We were all alone when Hod got down on one knee in the middle of a quiet West Village block. We were on our way back from getting coffee. Let’s just say it was the best way we have ever started a day.

Hod: She knew it was coming.

What have you learned so far about planning a wedding?

Amy: Communication is key!

Hod: Take the path of least resistance.

Is planning teaching you anything about yourselves as a couple or individuals?

Amy: That we value each others opinion the most.

Hod: Take the path of least resistance.

What are you looking forward to most about your day?

Amy: I can’t wait to marry Hod and share our wedding day with our family and friends.

Hod: Marrying Amy.
