With more than 15 years of experience shooting for such well-known style magazines as Nylon, Surface, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, New York and W, Joanna Toto brings an elegant, edgy aesthetic to everything she does, whether photographing a model walking down the runway or a bride walking down the aisle.
Joanna’s love affair with photography began at age 11, when she began looking at editorial shoots in fashion magazines, poring over the clothes, poses, locations and models. It wasn’t long before she was carrying a camera wherever she went, shooting before-and-after beauty photos and creating her own fashion stories with friends. It wouldn’t be until after she had completed a BA in International Relations and an MA in Communications that she would turn her childhood passion into reality as a professional photographer, traveling throughout the world shooting fashion, beauty, culture and weddings. Having lived in Athens, Greece, for four years, Joanna has an international outlook that is evident in her ability to document a diverse range of cultural traditions with sensitivity and sophistication.
A regular backstage at New York Fashion Week, Joanna is accustomed to the adrenaline and anxiety that often arises before big events. After many years spent directing models, she is an expert at gently guiding the bride and groom on their wedding day with the result that they can relax and enjoy the moment.
Inspired by classic fashion photographers like Guy Bourdain and Helmet Newton, Joanna enjoys combining unexpected compositions and the use of negative space with more traditional imagery, making her the ideal choice for couples with a fashion-forward flair.
Complete Wedding Package — including albums, proofbook, prints and archival image disc — is available for $11,000. For more information and to check Joanna’s availability, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
