Jessica & Robert, The Plaza, NYC
Robert first caught sight of Jessica in the halls at Staples High School. Twelve years later, he got his first glimpses of her as his bride on the candlelit staircase of The Plaza. Jessica & Robert met their Junior year of high school, and have been in love ever since.
On a Saturday in the middle of October, beneath an arch of orchids, Jessica & Robert exchanged their vows. Following the ceremony, there was a spectacular celebration of their marriage. Guests danced in the ball room beneath glass structures covered in white orchids that hung from the ceiling. There was confetti, glow-sticks, and a gorgeous Ron Ben-Israel cake with lavender flowers climbing up its six layers – the makings of a great party.
These High School Sweethearts’ special day had some really unique elements. The projected family photos on the wall of the staircase brought a little sense of home to the day. Jessica & Robert were written up in the New York Times wedding pages, inspiring a creative front cover featuring the bride and groom themselves – which spoke to their playfulness. Inside the cover, the actual Sunday Times was included inside, and were handed out to guests by a paper boy – newsboy cap and all!
The entire day, coordinated by Francesca Events, was wonderfully creative and so much fun! We had such a great time and were so happy to be there to document their special day.
Congratulations, Jessica & Robert!
