Casey & Howie, Essex House, NYC
Time has a way of getting away from all of us. In our line of work, sometimes that results in a happy walk down memory lane. With the general activity of life, and a new baby having just arrived, Casey & Howie have been keeping pretty busy since their wedding day nearly two years ago. There was never a chance to share their day here, until now. So today we are going back to where it all began – at the Essex House on a spring day in 2014.
Among the elm trees in Central Park, Casey, wearing an Oscar de la Renta gown, stood awaiting her groom for their first look and a quick moment alone. Just as they met, a spring rain started to fall – the kind of romance only Mother Nature can offer. The couple took a quick stroll under umbrellas back to Essex House, where they exchanged vows beneath a chuppa of lush greenery, white roses and lilacs. With ten bridesmaids and eight groomsmen, these two had a lot of love supporting and surrounding them that day.
Following the ceremony, the room was transformed into an affair of revelry. Lewis Miller Design put to use all of the season’s best blooms (pink peonies, lilacs, lilies, roses and hydrangeas) to create a spring utopia, and an array of flowers climbed a gorgeous five-tier cake by Ron Ben-Israel. The bride, groom and their guests danced with zeal throughout the evening, leaving no question that the joy about this union was abundant.
We were so touched by Casey & Howie’s love for each other that day, and after all this time we continue to be inspired by it. Casey and Howie, there’s a lot to congratulate you on two years later! We wish you – and now your new baby! – all the happiness and love this world has to offer.
