Mia & Sam, Private Residence, Bel Air, CA

POSTED BY Ira Lippke on 2012/09/13

Perched on a panoramic hillside in Bel Air, Mia and Sam’s outdoor wedding was extraordinary from start to finish.

Set on the grounds of Mia’s parents’ museum-quality Charles Gwathmey home (which included a first-rate contemporary art collection, much to our delight), the ceremony took place at the end of a meandering path lined with succulents that led to a breathtaking modernist chuppah dripping with exuberant floral arrangements—an intense visual mix of masculine and feminine elements. The reception took place in a similarly rectilinear modernist tent whose interior was constructed of soft billowing material that opened in the middle to the night sky.

It’s always inspiring to shoot a fun-loving, close-knit family that deeply values creativity and culture. Special congratulations go to planner Mindy Weiss, Revelry, and Mark’s Garden for creating such a transformative experience for everybody!
