About Adam Sjöberg
A spirit of adventure and simplicity has formed Adam Sjöberg into Ira Lippke Studios’ vagabond photographer and filmmaker, seeking out images that speak truth and beauty both in his own backyard and in some of the most unusual corners of the planet. Characterized by a feeling of movement and sensitivity to light and shadow, his work is filled with intimate moments as well as epic panoramas of people and places.
Adam was raised in the small farm town of Grabill, Indiana, where he developed an intense love for creativity in all its forms. While pursuing his undergraduate degree in Los Angeles at Biola University, Adam explored a number of different artistic outlets including graphic design and fashion, though ultimately chose to concentrate in photography.
After graduating from Biola, Adam spent time in Thailand working on a documentary film project about the atrocities of sex trafficking in Southeast Asia and saw the power of the medium in giving voice to those who might not have one. Inspired by the experience, Adam has spent the majority of his time since then traveling extensively for personal and work-related film and photography projects. His photojournalistic portfolio spans the globe, from the war-torn regions of Northern Uganda to the mountains of Yemen to the banks of the Tumen River separating China from North Korea, as well as every corner of the United States.
Adam’s talents have also been recognized by the fashion industry, where he has shot editorials and promotional campaigns for Details magazine, Warby Parker and Native Son. In addition, he has directed a number of short films, including a documentary for ESPN on football star Troy Polamalu’s return to American Samoa and an art short featuring models Suvi Koponen and Tyler Riggs. When he is not bringing his innately stylish sensibility to his film and photo work for Ira Lippke Studios, Adam is working on completing Shake the Dust, a feature documentary that tells the stories of break-dancers in struggling communities around the globe.
